International Development Enterprises (iDE) Nepal is seeking for a Regional Coordinator to oversee its projects and operations in Gandaki Province.

This position will require overall coordination with all relevant stakeholders, in the respective area/region in accordance with the iDE Nepal’s strategic document to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the projects’ activities & operations, develop coordination, projects’ monitoring and evaluation and feedback mechanism to ensure the achievement of target outcomes and results. Additionally, s/he will be responsible to lead the field team, support the regional field office providing technical assistance to the local implementing partners for reporting & documentation ensuring compliance for the effective implementation of the projects and field security. S/he will be using a market systems development approach to drive and deliver the outcomes of multiple iDE projects engaging market systems for impact in nutrition and food security. This position will be based in Pokhara with significant travel requirements to project areas.

Requirements

Project leadership, planning, implementation and quality assurance:

  • Provide strategic leadership and technical support for the implementation of activities from different projects with quality assurance
  • Oversee project operations and overall financial, administrative, logistics and procurement functions for the projects in the region
  • Lead project start-up, periodic reviews and phase over for different projects as per their timelines in the region
  • Play an active role and coordinate with the direct report and relevant technical/thematic/project leads in planning for the project activities
  • Adopt relevant changes in the implementation of different projects, following adaptive management practices and considering local situations
  • Manage communications of each project, including with iDE Country Office(CO), government partners, private sector, and other project stakeholders in the region
  • Analyze risk in different projects and develop its mitigation plan in coordination with the direct report and the technical leads

Coordination, communication and meaningful organizational representation

  • Coordinate with the direct report and technical/thematic/project leads on all the operational plans, activities, and status
  • Coordinate with provincial and local government stakeholders from different relevant line agencies with meaningful participation
  • Represent iDE Nepal in key forums and participate in significant provincial/local level events, workshops, meetings, discussions etc. advocating for the success of the projects and building strong network
  • Take proactive role in presenting projects’ updates and progresses with relevant authorities at the provincial/local levels
  • Cultivate relationships with other relevant stakeholders, including non-profit enterprises, project partners, and community members, to enhance collaboration and resource sharing
  • Develop and maintain high-quality and accountable relationships with community partners, ensuring that their involvement adds value to project activities, services, and resources

Team management

  • Lead, guide, and effectively manage regional team members to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and values
  • Assess human resource needs within the regional office with clear reporting structures and roles
  • Provide support to the regional team in developing individual action plans and conduct regular follow-ups to monitor progress and provide necessary guidance
  • Take the lead in the performance appraisal process, collaborating with line managers to ensure fair and comprehensive evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to facilitate professional growth
  • Assess the capacity building needs of team members and and communicate with the direct report, HR and thematic/technical/project leads
  • Manage the planning process and task coordination among team members to ensure efficient workflow and effective utilization of resources
  • Support in mobilization of interns/volunteers for projects
  • Manage difficult situations within the team in coordination with the CO

Project monitoring, supervision, reporting, documentation and evaluation

  • Supervise and monitor progress of each project, in coordination with the project leads, to ensure the projects are operating well and adheres to financial, administrative, and HR guidelines/procedures
  • Prepare Project Progress Reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and share with the direct report and the thematic/technical/project leads
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision and monitoring visits, joint supportive supervision and monitoring visits with partners and stakeholders, and handle any issues that may arise
  • Monitor project indicators according to project log frames and theory of change
  • Participate and provide meaningful inputs in meetings, discussions, workshops etc. related to Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, Learning and Research
  • Monitor and provide supervision to partners and their team regarding projects’ progress, documentation, compliance, accountability etc.
  • Actively engage in initiating best practices, key learnings, unique cases, and other relevant documentation to share with the wider team

Security

  • Maintain an effective network, with local input, on contextual and security matters
  • Collect and analyze information to establish risks and mitigation measures
  • Develop/update local security plan and share with the CO security focal and the direct report
  • Ensure the application of security procedures and protocols
  • Manage any security incidents at the regional level and communicate to the direct report and the CO security focal
  • Actively participate in security audits and ensure the implementation of recommendations

iii) Profile of the ideal candidate

Qualification and experience:

  • Master with 4 years’ experience on Sr.Officer level or Graduate with 7years’ experience at officer level in Social Science, Development Studies, Agriculture, Nutrition or a relevant discipline.

Other professional experiences:

  • Relevant experience in the development sector, with significant exposure to project leadership, planning and implementation; coordination; community mobilization; monitoring and supervision at field level
  • Experience working in the agriculture and nutrition sector with a market systems development approach
  • Experience in post harvest, food loss and waste reduction as well in research projects will be an added benefit

  • Have a humble and polite personality with strong professional skills
  • Have a listening as well as analyzing capacity to make the operational activities more comprehensive and easier to conduct.

  • Having a two-wheeler license would be an added advantage
