Position Summary
Overseeing and managing the credit operations within a designated region. It involves assessing credit risk, ensuring compliance with lending policies, and driving the growth of the credit portfolio.
Major Roles And Responsibilities (Job Details)
Job Responsibilities
Planning:
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve loan origination targets within the region.
- Evaluate loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and make lending decisions.
- Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor the performance of loan officers and provide coaching and training as needed.
Loan Recovery:
- Develop and implement strategies for loan recovery and minimize non-performing assets.
- Oversee the activities of recovery agents, ensuring they adhere to legal and ethical practices.
- Manage the negotiation and settlement of delinquent accounts.
- Collaborate with legal counsel for legal actions, when necessary.
Compliance:
- Stay updated on relevant lending and recovery regulations and ensure the team’s compliance.
- Implement and maintain internal policies and procedures to mitigate risk.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure regulatory compliance and quality control.
Reporting:
- Prepare and present regular reports on loan origination and recovery performance to senior management.
- Analyze data and trends to make informed decisions and improve processes.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of loan officers and recovery agents.
- Set clear performance goals and provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Proven experience in loan origination and recovery operations, with at least [X years] in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of lending regulations, risk management, and credit assessment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Results-oriented with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Professional certification in credit management or related field is a plus.
