JOB OPPORTUNITY

ANSAB is a civil society organization that has been working for biodiversity conservation and livelihoods improvement across South Asia for three decades. It places community empowerment and economic incentives at the heart of its approach, and has been consistently evolving, consolidating, institutionalizing and advancing the approaches and strategies for the promotion of community-based enterprises and value chains; natural resources management and biodiversity conservation; and enabling policy environment and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

ANSAB is currently seeking a field-based staff to implement an “Increased resilience of people and agro-ecosystems in Karnali, Nepal through adoption of climate smart agriculture practices” project in Karnali Province. Details of the position with responsibilities, qualifications and skills are given below.

Cluster Coordinator – 1 (Dailekh)

Main Responsibilities

1. Identify farmers’ groups in the project area and assess the capacity gaps on climate resilient technology (CRA) and agri-business;
2. Provide Training of Trainers (TOT) to local resource persons (LRPs) and mobilize them in group level training;
3. Organize and facilitate meetings, workshop, and training activities;
4. Demonstrate CRA production and post-harvest handling technologies and practices in agriculture;
5. Implement the project in close coordination with local government bodies, Agriculture Knowledge Center and private sector technology providers;
6. Provide periodic progress reports of cluster level to the Project Coordinator.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Intermediate of Agriculture with 4 years of relevant experience or B.Sc. in Agriculture with 1 years of relevant experience;
2. Understanding of Climate Smart Agriculture principles and practices;
3. Experience in training delivery to farmers’ groups;
4. Excellent communication and written skills in Nepali and English;
5. Ability to plan and prioritize work under pressure and tight deadlines;
6. Good computer skills including MS Words and Excel;
7. Motorbike riding skill with valid driving license.
