Yuwalaya, established in 2013, is a purely youth-led, non-profit, non-government organization working for and with adolescents and youths of Nepal.

Yuwalaya in partnership with Oxfam in Nepal is implementing project “Youth led GESI initiatives for COVID recovery strategies and actions in Nepal” being support by European Union in Nepal. Currently, Yuwalaya is looking for pro-active, self- motivated and outcome-oriented persons for the following positions;

  1. Admin and Finance Coordinator – based in Central Office, Lalitpur
  2. District Coordinators – based in Baitadi (1) & Dailekh (1) Districts
  3. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, & Learning (MEAL) Officer – based in Central Office, Lalitpur

1. Administration & Finance Coordinator

Location: Central Office, Lalitpur (V001/ADMIN/Y/led)

Key responsibilities:

  • Administer and coordinate all financial systems of the organization including general ledgers, internal accounts, accounts payable and account receivable, payroll, budget monitoring, and other financial systems and processes are required.
  • Prepare budget planning and execute them in coordination with Executive Director and Executive Secretariat.
  • Ensure all project staff are providing timely, accurate, and appropriate timesheets and other financial reporting of the field activities, including invoices, bills, and all other relevant financial information and records.
  • Share monthly financial analysis with organization and submit monthly financial report to donor in given deadline.
  • Ensure payment of TDS on periodic basis and also done E-TDS as on validate time frame of Nepal Government Tax Office.
  • Maintain financial management files with proper supporting documentation;
  • Monitor fund in the bank account to ensure for timely disbursement of payments;
  • Ensure compliance requirements of donor’s rules and regulations, Nepal Government Laws and organization policies including audit requirements;
  • Work closely with organization members, program and other field staffs to inform and orient them for the financial requirements;
  • Track and record all advances, payables and ensure timely settlement;
  • Review and check all the financial supporting documents such as bills, agreement and other supporting documents before making administrative and program expenses, payments to the staffs and third parties;
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial reports and advances requests on the timely basis as per grant agreement requirement;
  • Responsible for procurement of office supplies, expendable and non-expendable items;
  • Ensure withheld tax of all vendors, employees and consultants is properly accounted and deposited in Inland Revenue Department in a regular and timely basis;
  • Make timely payments related to all program expenditure e.g. salaries and benefits, purchases, travel and program advances in timely manner;
  • Prepare monthly fund advance request and budget projections, and share internally and submit to donor.
  • Provide support role in audit (internal and external (including preparation of documents for internal and external and donor audits.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the organization’s financial business and other private information and records.

Required Qualification:

  • Master Degree in Account and Finance with at 2-year experience & Bachelor degree in Account and Finance with at least 4 years relevant experience especially with youth and youth related issues
  • In depth understanding of Nepal’s accounting principles for non-profit organizations
    Strong knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, and General Ledger knowledge and experience
  • Excellent Accounting Software Skills
  • Strong Computing Skills (Word Processing and Excel)
  • Skills and solid experience with financial systems, financial reporting, financial and business planning, budget preparation, and adherence to statutory, regulatory and other policy standards and requirements
  • Ability to accurately analyses, interpret, summarize, and present financial information
  • Ability to work in a demanding self-supervisory, multi-task environment within clear timelines
  • Strong interpersonal, and cooperative working skills

2. District Coordinators

Location: Baitadi- 1 & Dailekh- 1 h Applicant
For Baitadi Applicant (V001/DC/Baitadi/Y-led)
For Dailkeh Applicant (V001/DC/Dailekh/Y-led)

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Development and Implementation:

  • Plan and Implement project on a sustainable manner.
  • Support in formulation of youth network guideline.
  • Support facilitator, consultants and trainer in intervention related to youth capacity strengthening
  • Build and strengthen healthy coordination, collaboration and cooperation with government and other like-minded organizations with the means of meetings and other communication channels.
  • Design and delivering various workshop, training as demanded by situation
  • Project Staff and CBOs performance enhancement.
  • Documentations of district level happenings including best practices and challenges faced and report writing.
  • Strengthen capacity of youth champions, and community people to support for the effective implementation of the project.
  • Development, documentation and organization of information such as training evaluations and other documents including training plans, communication materials and other written materials as directed.
  • Coordinate with the consortium partners in planning, strategy development and implementation process
  • Coordinate with district government and private stakeholders for mutual program and matching fund.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Monitor and supervision of the project.
  • Make regular monitoring visits to project sites to monitor and support for quality delivery of project.
  • Coordinate and support in Carrying out internal baseline, midterm and annual survey, monitoring and evolutional of the project.
  • Generate, compile periodic regular/quarterly, six monthly and annual reports with qualitative and quantitative data and other relevant project progress information.
  • Support and supervise on data and information management and documentation and reporting of project data, lessons learned and success stories for internal and external sharing as per project/organizational need
  • Ensure maintaining an effective information management system for the project as well as for the organization, which will allow for safe storage and easy retrieval of data.

Financial Management:

  • Ensure record of program expenses in a standard format for settlement of advance and reimbursement
  • Plan budget for impending activities and communicate with supervisor for accuracy and timely release
  • Financial management, formulation budget and disbursement
  • Plan monthly and quarterly budget and expense request and follow up for timely release
  • Lead in providing regular periodic technical and financial reporting with supporting documents.

Operations/Logistics:

  • Establish and promote better coordination and linkage with likeminded organization, selected Palika Youth champions and OXFAM for effective delivery of the project
  • Support/ manage in arranging venues for training and workshops with appropriate Physical facilities

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in social science with at least 2 years relevant experience especially with youth and youth related issues
  • Excellent Coordination skills,
  • Communication skills including ability to communicate effectively in both English and Nepali.
  • Facilitation Skills
  • Demonstration of excellent team working and relationship building skills
  • Able to travel frequently and spend time away from base and home
  • Proficiency to use MS Office
  • Good understanding of current development provision, policy and practices in Nepal
  • Working ability in multicultural environment
  • Previous experience in GESI, livelihood and income generation related projects

3. Position: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer

Location: central Office, Lalitpur (V001/M&E Officer/Y-led)

Key Responsibility:

  • Appraise the project activities, high level of progress reports and streamlining the field staff work and documentation.
  • Support to update beneficiary information regularly.
  • Orient and train the project teams and relevant staff on MEAL concepts and tools.
  • Collecting best practices, case studies which demonstrate qualitative and quantitative changes.
  • Assisting in conducting surveys and assessments.
  • Data collection and management related to program activities.
  • Ensuring proper documentation of program activities as well as skills in report writing.
  • Skills in handling complaints and feedback of the community.
  • Support to Collect secondary data from various sources in working districts and municipalities.
  • Support to Facilitate beneficiary selection process.
  • Share relevant M&E findings with program teams and management.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelors’ degree in any Social Science, Minimum 2 year of experience in monitoring and evaluation and/or research preferably, Competent on running computerized statistical and M&E systems,
  • Proficient in report writing, documentation and data visualization, Good interpersonal and communication skills.
