Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)

Main purpose of job:

To carry out effective day to day maintenance work, routine maintenance, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, new installation and construction works.

Roles and responsibilities / what will the jobholder be expected to achieve?

Regular works (30%)

  • Assist team to do maintenance service request tasks on regular basis to continue the mission’s operations.
  • Supervise team member to undertake issues related to A/C, freeze, D-Freeze, washing machine, dryer machine, air purifier.
  • Follow FCO health & safety standard in regular works.
  • Lead on ad hoc tasks delegated by Technical Works Supervisor (TWS) and provide updates of the progress on the same.
  • Reporting the Supervisor after completion of assigned works.

New Works (30%)

  • Support Technical Works Supervisor to scope out the project by collecting data’s and estimating the new related to A/C, freeze, D-Freeze, washing machine, dryer machine, air purifier and adhoc project assigned.
  • Take lead to carry out installation of new A/C, freeze, D-Freeze, washing machine, dryer machine, air purifier.
  • To carry out masonry work independently during the installation of the air-con and home appliances.
  • Assisting all the trade persons to carry out their new tasks i.e. Electrician, Plumber, Painter, Mason and Carpenter.
  • To carry out installation of fire safety equipment and home appliances.
  • Supervise contractors and team members to carry out installation of new A/C, freeze, D-Freeze, washing machine, dryer machine, air purifier.
  • Reporting the Supervisor after completion of new installation works.

Schedule/Preventive maintenance works (30%)

  • To carry out the routine maintenance, check-up, inspection of all the room air conditioners and HVAC of residential and official accommodation.
  • To carry out inspection, routine/preventative maintenance of general pump and pressurisation Pump.
  • To carry out the routine preventative maintenance of CCTV camera and critical glazing.
  • To assist the electrician in carrying out the routine/preventative maintenance, check-up, inspection of all the electrical appliances and electrical installation of residential and official accommodations.
  • Assist to complete the planned preventive maintenance (PPM) works and meet the deadline as per PPM calendar.
  • Preparing the report of the work and help other colleagues for the same.
  • Safe management of greenhouse gases involve in AC and refrigeration.
  • Timely forecast of AC consumable for maintaining productivity of AC team.

Miscellaneous Works (10%)

  • Operate generator, the filtration plant & swimming pool system for conducting weekend duty whenever required.
  • Carry out on-call responsibilities on a rota basis.
  • Keep & clean tools and machines in proper position after using it.
  • Develop your skills in all trades to meet mission’s multi-tasking policies.
  • Take the responsibility and custody of maintenance stores and procurement as per need.

Language requirements:

Language: English/Nepali

Level of language required: Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.

Learning and development opportunities (and any specific training courses to be completed):

L & D activities as per FCDO requirement

Working patterns:

Should be work on On-Call request during the weekends

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

Essential on arrival:

  • Academic Requirement: SEE/SLC Passed
  • Professional Requirement: Minimum TSLC or Level 2 on Refrigeration and Air conditioning with Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in relevant field.
  • Must have 2wheel vehicle driving license.
  • Must have knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and MS outlook.

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience

Desirable:

  • Working experience with industrial/hospitality sector is preferred.
  • 4wheel vehicle driving license.
  • Basic knowledge of telephony, IT, electrical, plumbing and generator.
