Strategic Information Specialist (SI) – 2

SI Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting of the SI activities in line with the Activity Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan (AMELP) of MPHD Nepal . S/he will have to lead the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) training, technical capacity building, ensure private sectors monthly reporting via implementing partners, and District Health Information System (DHIS2) reporting to the local stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work jointly with program and other Monitoring, Evaluation (M&E) staff to provide technical backstop to the implementing partner on monitoring, learning, and adapting SI approach in a structured, systematic, and effective manner.
  • Coordinate for timely recording and reporting, use of project standard tools and guidelines as per the requirements of the project AMELP.
  • Develop and implement project’s real time/online M&E plan, systems, and tools that fulfils the recording and reporting requirements of the project, donor, and government, and to track and measure the progress qualitatively and quantitatively.
  • Plan and conduct Data Quality Assessments (DQA), and work with technical staff for designing, planning, implementation, and monitoring of continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives including joint monitoring.
  • Responsible for coordinating for data analysis, visualization, use for program improvement, as well as documentation and dissemination of good practice and success stories for replication and scaling up by other stakeholders in Nepal.
  • Provide M&E related training and follow-on coaching to the project staff to enhance their technical capacity.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with national stakeholders and others at national and provincial level to plan and facilitate sharing and review meetings and joint monitoring visits.
  • Make sure that the project team regularly collects, collate, and submit the report to M&E Unit as per the agreed deadlines.
  • Support to prepare quarterly, semi-annul and annual report as per requirement.
  • Collaborate with the FHI 360 Nepal other units to provide technical support for M&E related capacity-building through trainings and workshops.
  • Develop field monitoring plan for program staff and assess progress and ensure and provide supportive supervision, monitoring and onsite coaching to the project field staff.
  • Represent FHI 360 Nepal in the external meetings among the stakeholders as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, Deputy Chief of Party and Country Director.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Public Health or Epidemiology or Statistics or other relevant subject and three to five years of relevant work experience or bachelor’s degree with five to seven years of experience in above mentioned field and knowledge in SI/M&E systems including online data collection, analysis and visualization platforms and tools.
  • Quantitative and qualitative data analysis, visualization, and interpretation skills.
  • Experience in working effectively across various teams within the project and organization, and building and sustaining positive working relationships with NGOs, private sectors, government and other stakeholders.
  • Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing and working in virtual work environment, and flexible and open for managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written English and Nepali including documentation skills
