We are now looking for interested and qualified individuals for the position of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at SOS Children’s Village Gandaki.

Job Position:

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (1) : SOS Children’s Village Gandaki

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer is responsible to support the development of programmes of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal within the programme location. S/he takes a leading role in managing the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems and tracking monitoring indicators. S/he supports the implementation of self-evaluations for working with target groups under the supervision of Location Leader.

Key Performance Areas and Main Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Location Leader in developing results framework, needs assessment, baseline study and implementation of monitoring and evaluation system
  • Writes concept note with input from stakeholders, shares current baselines and supports in setting realistic targets
  • Responsible for the preparation and review of progress reports
  • Supports the Location Leader to organise review and planning meetings by engaging stakeholders in learning and sharing process, promote, and explore ways to use results to improve quality of programmes
  • Manages research activities and ensures outcomes and lessons learned are integrated into the project and shared with relevant stakeholders
  • Regularly reviews and analyses Program Data Base (PDB) to improve data quality
  • Supports external evaluators and provides monitoring data for impact assessment study and supports stakeholders in the implementation of recommendations

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Public Health, Development Studies or related subjects with at least second division and one year of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge and work experience in the development of result framework, reviewing and analysing the data to improve the data quality, conducting need assessment of projects, writing project concept notes and preparing periodic progress reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and positive attitude
  • Experience of working with children and young people will be an added advantage
  • Preference will be given to candidates having two – wheeler license

For all the above-mentioned position, candidates must be Nepali citizens below 35 years of age.
