JOB OPPORTUNITY

Rural Education and Environment Development Center (REED Nepal) is a national non-governmental organization based in Kathmandu. Currently, it has been implementing Teacher Training and Quality Inclusive Education (TTQIE) Program in Solukhumbu supported by DFAT. Its goal is to contribute for Quality Inclusive Education. REED Nepal is committed to child rights and child safeguarding. REED Nepal invites applications from the eligible candidates for the below two positions based in Solukhumbu district:

Position: Education Development Officer (EDO)

Required number: 1(One)
Education Qualification: Master Degree in Mathematics ( M.Ed./ M.SC)
Work Experience: Minimum three years relevant experience in teaching Mathematics at secondary level with sound understanding on pedagogy or two year’s experiences in teacher professional development and capacity building at community school.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Design, develop and deliver wide range of training packages for community school teachers and education key stakeholders in line with Nepal government existing training packages,
  • Ability to develop, maintain good coordination, collaborative with local line agencies including Municipality/Rural Municipality and other stakeholders for education program planning, management, monitoring and delivery.
  • Program Data compilation, management, report preparation and documentation with basic Monitoring and evaluation knowledge and understanding.
  • Strong facilitation skills, and building the capacity of multiple level of stakeholders including teachers, school management committee, parents teacher association, community.
  • Knowledge on girls scholarship programs, parental supports, counselling, parental engagement and capacity building,
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and power point.
  • In depth knowledge on classroom management, mentoring and schools on site supports contributing to promote inclusive, quality education.
  • Basic understanding on Child rights, safe guardin, disability inclusion, gender equity and social inclusion in education system.
  • Ability to administer different tools, formats for program monitoring, assessment, research and evaluation within the M&E framework.
  • Excellent academic competency and experiences on Maths subject contents at basic level.
  • Basic understanding on budget design, plan and management.
  • Strong commitment to work in team promoting team building and feedback culture.
  • Willingness to travel and work in remote and mountainous region.

2. Position: Training Officer

Required number: 1(One)
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Science
Work Experience: Minimum two years’ teaching experience in community schools. Preference to master’s degree with training experience. S/he should have good knowledge and understanding of community school education system, education theories and modern pedagogy including school management committee (SMC), PTA, Parents, Child club and community school system.

Job Responsibilities:
The Training officer has to work with REED Nepal subject trainers, Education Development Officers and Education Program Manger to design and develop different training packages and materials for school teachers, Head teachers, SMC, PTA members, parents, and child club to achieve Teachers Training and Quality Inclusive Education program objectives. This position has to ensure training quality, effective training packages delivery and training knowledge documentation as guided by Teacher Training and Quality Inclusive Education (TTQIE) program. S/he should have basic knowledge of safeguarding, Gender Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).

Required knowledge skills and abilities:

  • Collaborate with district team members to design, develop instructional and training packages for school level and finalize training package,
  • Review TTQIE program existing different training packages and updates on regular basis,
  • Collaborate and coordinate with different training institutions including government for effective package development and delivery process,
  • Design, develop different instructional and training manuals, guidelines and materials adopting modern learning styles and approaches,
  • Incorporate safeguarding, Gender Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and DRR cross cutting theme into the training package.
  • Follow up and monitoring of training along with subject trainers and provide on-site supports, coaching and mentoring of trainings to the teachers and school other stakeholders,
  • Support to Asst Education officer, Education officers and subject trainers for effective training delivery as Sper need and request,
  • Carry out regular training follow , monitoring, and school support activities in schools in the project area along with Team members.
