Aasaman Nepal is implementing Aarambha project which is working with married, out-of-school adolescent girls from the Rautahat and Bara District of Madhesh Pradesh –which address the underlying barrier that prevents girls from leading healthy, safe, and educated lives: their low social status. Through this project, out of school adolescent, OOS girls will improve their life chances by mitigating the harmful effects of early marriage.

The Aasaman Nepal is looking for the self-motivated, result oriented and hard-working Nepali citizen for the following positions:

Technical Coordinator – One (Chandrapur, Rautahat based)

Scope of work

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, Technical Coordinator will complete primarily the following tasks:

Project Implementation

1. Assist Project Manager in the implementation of project activities in the targeted field locations of Madhesh Pradesh districts.
2. Assist Project Manager to develop project strategies, activities and policies related to the LNGB project.
3. Conduct, monitor and support program implementation of LNGB in selected sites in close coordination with LNGB’s consortium partners.
4. Identify marginalized individuals, communities and households, conduct assessments and data collection as per the marginalization framework used by the project.
5. Mobilize or facilitate formation of support groups/working committees in the project sites, and provide training to such groups/committees.
6. Ensure safeguarding of children, vulnerable groups (including people with disabilities) and those in risk during planning, designing and implementation of project activities.
7. Support the LNGB project team in developing referral mechanism and service matrix.
8. Organize field visits to project districts and fields sites as per the requirement of the project.

Coordination and Liaise

1. Assist Project Manager to liaise with concerned government stakeholder and other existing partners in the assigned district and maintain healthier professional relationship.
2. Provide support to the Project Managers to organize local level/district level/national workshops/orientation/induction in relation to LNGB project.
3. Coordinate with relevant organizations, municipalities and other concerned stakeholders for the adaptation and sustainability of project activities.
4. Coordinate, collaborate and support the district team for the effective implementation of the project activities.

Documentation, Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

1. Coordinate with MEAL team on any field surveys, assessments or evaluations pertaining to the project.
2. Assist the Project Manager with filing risk register reports, field visit and monitoring checklists as per instructions from the Project Manager.
3. Participate in meetings and prepare meeting minutes as per instructions from the Project Manager.
4. Identify and immediately communicate needs and gaps in such classes and school level interventions and life skill intervention.
5. Maintain ordered project’s documentation, lists, reports, log books, according to ASN and donor’s requirements and compliance.
6. Prepare the monthly, quarterly and annual report with coordination with sectoral team.
7. Carry out routine monitoring and evaluation of the project to ensure quality.
8. Support Project Manager in monitoring progress and evaluation of project activities including financial performances.

Data Collection and Information Management/Dissemination

1. Collect required data from field, in coordination with the project’s MEAL team as per project needs. In case of increase in data and reporting needs, will support to compile and clear and support to MEAL coordinator.
2. Maintain data and information confidentiality as set out in the Data Protection Policy of ASN and PIN.
3. Coordinate with the MEAL team for required updated data from central level and ensure that the shared data in the field is updated and verified.

Required skill, experience and knowledge

  • Masters’ degree in relevant discipline(s), preferably education, or social science or development related field with 1 year of relevant experience or Bachelor degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  •  Good understanding of gender issues and rights-based approach
  • Willingness to undertake extensive field works in remote and rural Madhesi communities
  • Outstanding communication skills- written and spoken
  • Fluency in English-written and spoken
  • Knowledge of local language/s to be considered an advantage
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to self-initiate

Provincial Coordinator – Two (Kailali and Surkhet based)

Scope of work

. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Coordinator and coordination with Project Manager, Provincial Coordinator will complete primarily the following tasks:

Main Responsibility

1 .Capacity development of local authorities

  • Assist the Provincial Department of education and MOSD in supporting Girls’ and Inclusive Education Network(GIEN) into communicate, district and provincial plans and budgets
  • Support the GIEN Lead to carry out the interventions in the ground
  • Provide technical support to the Provincial government in the implementation of GIEN
  • Assist in the preparation of advocacy materials, resources

2. Coordination and collaboration with project partners and other key stakeholders

  • Ensure the project activities are coordinated for effective implementation of the project
  • Support in coordinating and conducting trainings at the provincial, district,
    community and local levels;
  • collaborate with partners, donors in the implementation of the project;
  •  Liaise with other programmes to ensure that project implementation complements other programmes in the project target areas.
  •  Organize meetings and workshops which promote dialogues and inputs from development partners into key project outputs at the provincial level regarding GIEN.

3. Ensure the effective result-based management of the project

  • Support the relevant line departments in designing and implementing activities to increase the capacity of the GIEN.
  •  Assist the relevant participating line departments in the preparation and delivery of quarterly and annual project work plans, progress reports, budgets and work packages in accordance with the policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the formulation of realistic years provincial project goals and plans and assist in monitoring and evaluating progress against goals.
  •  Conduct regular field visits with counterparts to monitor field activities and assist with the organization of visits and supervision missions from the co-operating institutions to the provinces.
  • Assist the Communications Officer in consolidating lessons learned and distilling good practices for dissemination

Required skill, experience and knowledge

  • Masters’ degree in relevant discipline(s), preferably law background or social science with 1 year of relevant experience or Bachelor degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience of and commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of child protection, GESI and holistic child development, participation and rights.
  • Strong cultural sensitivity, adaptability and flexibility.
