JOB OPPORTUNITY

Hilly Region Development Campaign (HRDC) has been implementing the Abasar II project in partnership with Save the Children International since January 2023 having aims to improve economic status of the most deprived community, improve student’s basic education, support in implementing UNCRC by government and Civil Society, create safe and protective environment for children in school, health facilities and other community settings through enabling local child protection units and referral mechanisms in Kushe Rural Municipality, Shivalaya Rural Municipality and Bheri Municipality of Jajarkot District. Thus, HRDC invites applications from suitable Nepali candidates for the following full-time position for Abasar II project:

1. Project Coordinator –Child Protection: – 1 (One) (Based in Bheri Municipality and frequently travel visit to the other project area: Shivalaya & Kuse Rural Municipality, Jajarkot)

Key Responsibilities: The Project Coordinator, CP/CRG will be fully responsible for overall management/led of CP/CRG programs in selected Rural/Municipality in close coordination and collaboration with local government, judicial committee, WCRC, LCRC, Women and Children department and also with Education & Child poverty thematic coordinator under the Abasar II Project. S/He will provide backstop support to CP/CRG Section/Women and Children Section of the Rural/Municipalities, planning, implementation and monitoring of activities planned by them in CP & CRG Sector along with capacity building to children’s networks, CSO and other stakeholders. S/He will work by collaborative effort with Office of the Social Development, Municipal Education departments/offices, SMC, WCRC, LCRC and different relevant stakeholders, and timely implementation of planned activities.

In Addition, the position holder will be also responsible for ensuring quality delivery of the project at implementing sites by maximizing the impact as per the organizational goal and project strategies. S/he will make effective planning, quality implementation, monitoring, reporting, and financial and stakeholder management in close consultation and guidance from the Program Manager. S/he will also work to strengthen networking and collaboration with child rights/ civil society organizations to promote child rights. The position holder will need to work in close coordination with SCI project team in the district and technical person as well.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Science, Education, Management or relevant discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ (2 years for GESI group*) experience in child protection, case management, referral support, advocacy and child right based project implementation in the field of development and CRG & CP sector.
  • Good understanding on local child protection mechanism, referral mechanism, case management, local level planning process, local level law formulation process, UPR, child protection issues in Karnali province and Jajarkot District.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of project planning framework, tools and indicator settings.
  • Evidence based monitoring and evaluation frameworks and programs, with emphasis on participatory and partnership program planning approaches.
  • Good in both spoken and written English and good report writing skills.
  • Familiarity with Project Cycle Management, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Strong interpersonal,self-awareness skills and team management skill

3. Sr. Supply Chain Officer: – 1 (One) (Based in HRDC Head Office, Jajarkot)

Key Responsibilities: The position holder will support in day-to-day Procurement, logistic and other support functions to run smoothly through project/office operations. S/he will also responsible for store receipt, store management, maintain petty cash, dispatch and receipt note of the goods and services. The role will include logistics support to Office. S/he is also responsible for procurement related matter of the organization in close coordination with the Program Manager and Admin and Finance Coordinator. He/she also responsible for preparing the procurement plan including consultant, service and goods, processing the procurements. S/he will work in close coordination/collaboration with relevant government institutions based in the District/Rural Municipality to ensure necessary involvement and/or ownership of the relevant stakeholders. In addition, s/he will work closely with the different thematic and department within the Organization and Abasar II Project.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3 years (2 years for GSI group*) working experience in the related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in management or related discipline (Master’s prefered)
  • Excellent ability to synthesize, understand and communicate complex issues effectively to non-finance staff.
  • Evidence of practical experience in logistics within the field of supply chain management (basic procurement, clearance of cargo, transport, asset management, etc.)
  • Sound judgement and an ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to adopt a pro-active approach to problem solving working closely with both the senior colleagues as required and offering solutions as appropriate.
  • Ability to integrate and work well within multiethnic and multicultural teams.
  • Sense of humor and good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of development especially on spreadsheet, and database management.
  • Negotiation, interpersonal and organization skills.
