• Should have recent Head Chef experience within a Nepali fine dine and or gastro pub environment
• Be passionate about using fresh, seasonal ingredients
• Experience in building new kitchen brigades
• Excellent knowledge of health & hygiene practices, and able to train and coach junior members of staff
• Be able to start immediately and hit the ground running
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills
• Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes

Job Description

The bar has retained a top visitors spot for almost a decade and is now looking for a new Executive Chef. The Executive Chef, with his or her own ideas, inspirations and ambitions will be able to make a unique stamp in this property, whilst retaining its original ethos, vision and most importantly standards of excellence.
• In addition to leading the culinary team, the Executive Chef will also possess the necessary commercial and management skills to successfully run a most happening bar in Thamel
• The person will be an individual who does not compromise on standards and maintains excellence at all times.
• A positive and learning culture is essential to the success of Purple Haze and the Executive Chef will be an individual who not only naturally embraces this environment but also upholds and maintains this throughout their team
• The individual we are seeking will already have a track record of success in their culinary career, will already know what success looks like and has the ambition to establish themselves as one of the leading chefs
• Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
• Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
• Arrange for repairs when necessary
• Oversee the work of subordinates
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers


Salary: Nrs. 40,000. However, salary is negotiable for deserving candidates
