Premises Manager

The Embassy of Switzerland offers a competitive salary and benefit package as well as a stimulating team and working environment. We are looking for a qualified Nepali professional for 4 years fixed term contract with possibility of extension.

Premises Manager (1)

As a member of the Administration team and under the line management of the Senior Finance Manager/Deputy Head of Personnel and Administration the incumbent shall be:

  • responsible for managing the official premises including the Ambassador’s residence, utility services fuel pump, Embassy cafeteria, and support team mobilisation. The Premises Manager directly line manages the cleaning team, gardener, general assistant and cafeteria consultants and mobilise them as required. The incumbent also manages the residence staff (3 staff) under the guidance of the Head of Mission/Ambassador
  • responsible to supervise and ensure result-oriented service delivery from her/his team, provides timely orientation and training on Embassy values and principles/code of conduct, regularly coaches and motivates respect and team work. She/he organises yearly performance evaluation process effectively and uses this consultation/engagement platform to set up clear team and individual objectives, ensures equal and fair assessment and growth, and a highly motivated service team.

Expert competence:

Diploma in Sanitary/ Civil Engineering or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with additional training in plumbing or equivalent qualification; At least 5 years’ of supervisory work experience in office premises and facility management and/or in hotel management; Proven experience in leading projects and negotiations; Experience in managing a team; Knowledge of eco- friendly practices and technologies; Ability to stay updated of new technologies and solutions; Knowledge of health and safety related to premises; Knowledge of soft-services relating to the aesthetics of the office environment and immediate reporting faults/issues (cleaning / maintenance / redecorations etc.); Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders; Ability to network; Knowledge of cleaning products, applications, procedures and equipment; Good knowledge and skill on computer application Microsoft Word and Excel; Good spoken and written English.
