District Program Facilitator

Number of Vacancies: 1
Location: Okhaldhunga
Salary Range: Rs. 60,000 to 75,000 per month (depending on qualifications and experience)
Contract Duration: 3 years (with potential extension)
Age Requirement: 27 years +
Experience: 3 years + in the relevant position
Note: Candidates applying for this position must possess a motorcycle with an active driving license.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The District Program Facilitator (DPF) role at ViN involves overseeing and coordinating comprehensive community empowerment programs in Okhaldhunga District. This essential position includes managing thematic areas such as ECD centres, women’s empowerment, youth empowerment, public health, disaster risk reduction (DRR), environmental conservation, Community Learning Centre, volunteer management, and ensuring effective program delivery across multiple themes within our working sites.

RESPONSIBILITIES BY THEMATIC AREAS:

A. EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS (27 ECDCS)

  • Oversee, monitor, and guide Early Childhood Development Centers (ECDCs).
  • Conduct regular observations and provide constructive feedback to ECDC teachers.
  • Coordinate meetings with management committees and parents, fostering community engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to the ECD curriculum, resource utilization, and maintenance of child-friendly classrooms.
  • Generate progress reports and communicate updates to VIN headquarters.

B. Women’s Empowerment

  •  Assess and identify challenges faced by women within the district.
  • Review, approve, and support field deployment plans and programs related to women’s empowerment.
  •  Promote and assist in ViN’s microcredit cooperative initiatives for program participants.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report the progress of projects to the VIN headquarters.
  • Organize impactful awareness campaigns and facilitate women’s active participation in VIN programs.
  • Organize entrepreneurship development projects.

C. Youth Empowerment

  •  Develop and implement programs that empower youth within the district.
  • Engage with local youth clubs, and organize workshops and training sessions.
  • Support youth-oriented initiatives and facilitate their participation in community development programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate youth-centric projects, providing regular progress reports to VIN HQ.

D. Public Health

  • Planned, coordinated, and oversaw public health initiatives in the district.
  • Collaborate with health organisations and conduct health awareness campaigns and health camps.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of health programs, reporting findings to VIN headquarters.

E. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)

  • Develop disaster risk reduction strategies and plans for the district.
  • Facilitate disaster preparedness training and community awareness programs.
  •  Regularly assess and review disaster risk reduction initiatives, providing reports to VIN HQ.

F. Environment Conservation

  •  Lead environmental conservation initiatives within the working sites.
  • Organise tree planting campaigns, waste management programs, and eco-awareness activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of environmental projects, reporting progress to VIN headquarters.

G. Volunteer Management

  • Manage and coordinate local and international volunteers within the ViN’s working sites.
  • Provide support, guidance, and supervision to volunteers for successful project implementation.

H. Community Learning Center Management

  •  Oversee the activities and operations of the NaraTika Community Learning Centre.
  •  Supervise VIN-run libraries and computer learning centres within the district.

I. Administration

  •  Supervise the Okhaldhunga branch office, staff, and volunteers.
  • Develop and maintain a network of partners and stakeholders within the district.
  • Ensure compliance with all VIN processes and procedures.

J. Networking

  •  Develop and foster relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and local authorities.
  • Represent VIN in networking events, meetings, and collaborative efforts within the district.

EDUCATION:

  • Master’s degree in education / Social Work or any Social Science discipline.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in team management and project delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote areas.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in Nepali and English (written and verbal).
  • Ability to provide culturally appropriate feedback.
  • Teaching/training experience.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work with children’s curricula.
  • Ability to work independently and be trustworthy.
  • Demonstrated experience in building solid relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package.
  •  Excellent communication skills in both Nepali and English.
  • Ability to write projects, reports, and documentation such as meeting records/minutes.
