Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for preparing and implementing financial strategy, policies and procedures and financial controls framework in order to ensure the achievement of institution wise financial objectives and stability. He/She will contribute to establish a secure internal control environment for financial reporting and provide expertise, commercial acumen and leadership to the team.

The position requires to establish and implement internal controls and ensure efficient and effective financial operations as per industry benchmarks. He/she has to share strategic direction to Financial Operations, Commercial Finance, Refund, Reporting, and Taxation teams.

The position directly reports to the local Managing Director, with a dotted line to our Group CFO​.

Key Responsibilities

  • ​Develop and scale the company’s financial and operational infrastructure required to meet performance goals and targets, within established budgets and timescales.
  • Ensure that all accounting records are properly and timely maintained, reporting cycles and other associated engagements are successfully performed in an effective and timely manner in accordance with the regulatory and organisational requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction to the institution through strategy formulation, decision making, forecast/budgeting and its implementation/monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with covenants incorporated in financing documents with banks / Govt and liaison with auditors, banks, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Improve financial planning and analysis processes, financial performance reporting against company targets and goals, and conduct reviews for cost-reduction and efficiency opportunities.
  • Analyse economic, legal and market trends, keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
  • Supervise the implementation of digital payment gateways and oversee non-trade payments.
  • Prepare financial projections and budgets in line with the business plan and get these approved from MD and Group CFO.
  • Supervise the implementation of digital payments and deal with various payment partners.
  • Work in collaboration with the Group CFO and Managing Director on key initiatives related to financial reporting consistency, fluctuation, and business trend analysis.
  • As part of our key leadership team, provide advice on key areas such as product investment, contract structure and terms, partnership structure and financials, operational efficiency and compensation.

Requirements

  • Qualified CA/ACCA (or equivalent) with 10+ years experience working at a management level in a fast-paced environment, ideally within a major financial services firm or multinational company with FDI.
  • Business review and commentary experience in previous roles is highly preferred
  • Proficient in the use of MS office and financial management software
  • Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to details and accuracy
  • In-depth knowledge of Nepalese direct and indirect taxation as well as local corporate laws
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced work environment by managing priorities with short deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to drive and manage cross-functional teams and cross-cultural stakeholders
