JOB OPPORTUNITY

Centre for Rural Technology, Nepal (CRT/N), a professional non-governmental organization engaged in developing and promoting appropriate rural technologies effective in meeting the basic needs and improving the livelihood of rural people. It was established in August 1989 under the Company Act. CRT/N was re-registered as social organization with the Government of Nepal under the Social Organization Registration Act 1977 (2034 B.S.) in October 1998.
The organization has been supported by more than 40 international organizations and Government agencies for the implementation of more than 100 projects in four major themes:

  • Access to Clean Energy and Energy Transition
  • Indoor air quality
  • GESI in the energy sector
  • Climate adaptation and mitigation

Since then, CRT/N has been expanding its services to empower the rural communities. The services provided are:

  • Promote and disseminate rural/appropriate technologies to meet the basic needs of the people and improve their quality of life
  • Conduct adaptive and action-oriented research on indigenous and improved rural / appropriate technologies
  • Train and transfer technical information and know-how on production, installation and management of rural/appropriate technologies
  • Assist in the development of technical and institutional capabilities for sustainable development
  • Provide Technical support and consulting services in the field of rural energy and environment conservation and climate change

Sr. Program Officer

Duty Station: Lalitpur

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operation and management of Project Implementation Department
  • Play leading roles in implementation of Renewable Energy and Climate Change sector related Programs/Projects and developing effective operational modalities/mechanism in working with partners and stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for monitoring the project progress.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with potential partners and support organizations for the development and implementation of Community-based programs and projects.
  • Undertake research related to energy, productive uses of energy and climate mitigation, adaptation and/or resilience.
  • Provide support subordinate staffs and reporting of their work performances;
  • Provide support in technical publications, case studies, promotional materials and reports and in performing annual activities planned by CRT/N
  • Play a proactive role in writing and reviewing concepts papers, proposals and reports on implementation, dissemination and development projects primarily concerning rural and renewable energy technologies;
  • Support other project activities of CRT/N as and when required;

Requirements:

  • Masters of Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical, Civil, Environment or equivalent degree with 3 years of experience in RE-based project implementation.
  • Happy taking ownership of problems and finding ways to solve them
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and able to adapt to fast-changing situations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Team player who is honest and diligent with no unhealthy addictions.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English
