Seasonal migration to India for employment is the common livelihood strategy of farming households in Arghakhachi district to cope with poor economic condition and lack of jobs at local level. Due to the COVID-19 crisis in India economic activity has slowed and factories close most of the migrant workers have returned from India and many of them have lost their jobs now in India so are unable to send money back home. From the situation, the regular income of the migrant families has stopped which invites unemployment at rural areas. If present situation continue, food insecurity is expected to increase among women & migrant families.
In such scenario, Building Economic Resilience project has been developed to engage the women & the migrants’ workers and their families in farming business & agriculture -based enterprises, so that they can increase their income for sustainable economic resilience. One of the major components of the project is to promote agriculture bases business at the cooperatives & farmers level. To provide the technical support for the project interventions, agriculture- based technician has provisioned in the project. So that, FOFA invites application from suitable Nepali candidates for the following position.
Forum For People’s Awareness (FOPA) is non-government Organization working in Arghakhachi district science 2018 in the field of Building Economic Resilience (BER),. We required experienced and qualified Nepali nationals for the following positions to implement the Building Economic Resilience (BER) program funded by OXFAM in Nepal at Arghakhanchi district.
2. Number: 2(Agricultural technicians 1. veterinary technicians1)
Duty Station: Bhumikasthan Municipality & Shitganga Municipality
Required qualification & Experience:
JTA or Intermediate in Agriculture Science (I. SC. Ag,) passed with two year relevant professional experience in NGO’s or related development organizations in sustainable livelihood and food security programme. Basic requirements are having good communication, facilitation, presentation and writing skills in Nepali or English. The candidate should have good understanding on sustainable livelihoods and gender equality. The candidate is required to spend at least 80% in field and 20% in district office for the documentation and reporting.
