Admin and Finance Officer

Job Summary:

The Admin and Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the Freed Harawa Charawa Rights Forum, ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations. This role involves day to day accounting, record keeping, invoices, budget preparation, and overall financial administration. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage time-sensitive tasks, and experience in financial management, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

The post will be based in Saptari District on Nepal.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  •  Maintain accurate records of all daily financial transactions.
  • Prepare balance sheets and process invoices.
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Update internal financial systems.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  •  Reconcile bank statements and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Participate in financial audits.
  •  Track bank deposits and payments.
  •  Assist in budget preparation and financial planning.
  • Review and implement financial policies to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain individual staff files
  •  Maintain Donor agreements and Bank documentation
  •  Lead coordination with the appointed Audit firm for the Annual audit.
  •  Support logistics of monitoring visits, trainings and other events in the community.
  • Bring to the attention of the Secretariat and Programme Manager for any deviations from agreed
    expenditures

Required Skills, Knowledge & Competencies:

  •  Proven experience as a Finance Officer or a similar role.
  •  Strong knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  •  Fluency in Maithili language.

Supervision & Reporting:

  • The Admin and Finance Officer will report directly to the Program Coordinator.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  •  Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
  •  Female and local candidates will be given priority.
