About Mukta Harawa Charawa Adhikar Manch (MHAM):

Mukta Harawa Charawa Adhikar Manch (MHAM) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered in the Saptari District of Nepal and affiliated with the SWC. MHAM is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the rights of the Harawa-Charawa community, working to end bonded labor, and focusing on rehabilitation, education, and livelihood support. The organization helps Harawa-Charawa families fight against harmful traditions and claim their rights through government mechanisms. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for institutionalizing and strengthening the MHAM.

The post will be based in Saptari District of Nepal

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Program Coordination and Management:

  •  Support MHAM team and lead smooth operation of the MHAM secretariat.
  •  Lead overall project management, including planning, designing, implementation, monitoring, evaluation,
    and reporting.
  • Facilitate the secretariat to develop their plans in align with the organisation’s strategy and vision.
  •  Ensure that project result sheets are properly maintained, and activities are implemented accordingly.
  • Coordinate the integration of thematic programs at the district level, ensuring sufficient technical support.
  •  Organize and conduct regular program coordination meetings at the rural municipality and municipality
    levels.
  • Support the MHAM team to maintain overall coordination with local, provincial and federal government.

2. Ensure compliance with terms of grant agreement.

  • Lead preparing project budgets, detailed implementation plans, and operational costs with the support of
    the Finance Officer.
  •  Track project progress and take corrective actions in coordination with the finance team.
  •  Ensure adequate administrative and logistical support for program implementation at the provincial level.

3. Coordination, Networking, and Representation

  •  Support mobilizing MHAM coordinating with different stakeholders as per the decision of MHAM board
    and secretariat.
  • Support and ensure the coordination and support MHAM for building relationship with government and
    like-minded organizations for smooth project execution.
  •  Support in the process of engage with local government bodies for advocacy and project facilitation.

4. Reporting and Documentation

  •  Prepare donor reports, progress updates, brief events report and share on time with MHAM
  • Ensure the timely submission of periodic project reports to the donors and other concerned stakeholders.
  • Review financial reports to ensure alignment with project plans and submit them to the donors.
  • Regularly document and share success stories, case studies, and impact evidence.
  • Prepare minute of the meetings of MHAM.

Qualification and Experience

  • Fluency in speaking Maithali language is essential
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology or a related field with at least three years of experience in community
    mobilization activities.
  • Strong background in advocacy initiatives, movement building.
  • Prior experience working with survivor networks and grassroots organizations.
  • Able to demonstrate strategies to support the survivor networks/grassroots organisations to lead which
    offering programmatic support
  •  Understanding and experience of working with agricultural bonded labours
