Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (OCH) is a project of United Mission to Nepal Medical and Development Trust (UMN MDT), working in communities for the health, education, and self-reliance of those living in poverty in Nepal, carrying out other social service work for the public good. It is a 50-bed general hospital east of Kathmandu providing quality and affordable healthcare to the people of Okhaldhunga and surrounding districts – including general medicine and surgery, orthopaedics, paediatrics, obstetrics, and gynaecology. Associated programmes of the hospital include community-based rehabilitation, mental health, and the Okhaldhunga School of Health Sciences which trains staff nurses (PCL Nursing).
OCH is pleased to announce the following job vacancies:
Position: Consultant in General Practice (MDGP) (Grade Level 11)
Required No.: 1
Main Role
In conjunction with the Medical Coordinator and OCH specialists, day-to-day responsibility for clinical activities in the hospital, with specific oversight of the Emergency Room.
Qualification:
- Doctor of Medicine in General Practice MDGP (or equivalent) from a recognised university with Nepal Medical Council registration.
Preferred Experience:
- Newly graduated MDGP qualified doctors are welcome to apply.
- One or two years of working as an MDGP consultant post-specialist training would be an advantage.
Position: Paediatrician (Grade Level 11)
Required No.: 1
Main Role
Day-to-day responsibility for paediatric clinical services, including neonatal care, inpatients, outpatients, and the Emergency Room.
Qualification:
- Doctor of Medicine MD in paediatrics (or equivalent) from a recognised university with Nepal Medical Council registration
Preferred Experience:
- Newly graduated Paediatrician specialists are welcome to apply.
- One or two years of working as a paediatric specialist, post-specialist training, would be an advantage
Position: Obstetrician/Gynaecologist (Grade Level 11)

Main Role
Day-to-day responsibility for obstetrics and gynaecology clinical services, including labour ward, inpatients, outpatients, and the Emergency Room.
Qualification:
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Surgery MD/MS in obstetrics/gynaecology (or equivalent) from a recognised university with Nepal Medical Council registration.
Preferred Experience:
- Newly graduated Ob/Gyn specialists are welcome to apply.
- One or two years of work experience as an O&G consultant would be an advantage
