As part of the broader reproductive justice movement, Ipas is working to ensure that abortion and contraceptive care are essential health services and that all people can access them. We seek to expand the availability, quality and sustainability of abortion and related reproductive health services, as well as improve the enabling environment for the services.

Ipas Nepal’s program intervention prioritize intersectional partnerships that integrates into the broader gender equality and social justice, including gender-based violence prevention and response, and women-led climate justice.

Communication Trainee

Number of positions required: 1 (one)
Duration: Minimum 3 months with possibility of extension
Location: Kathmandu

Purpose of the Job

The objective of hiring Communication trainee is to help person to gain valuable experience through on-the- job training to develop his/her ability to work in roles or functions within or across the organization. Trainee will assist Communication team and will be mentored and coached by Program Development and Communications specialist.

Detailed duties and responsibilities for the position

  • Development of designing related to IEC materials based on Ipas Nepal’s working area
  • Development of videos and photo stories.
  • Develop and research the communications materials for social media and website
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the information and documentation.
  • Work closely with Program Development and Communications Specialist.
  • Will perform other duties as assigned by the organization.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualification and skill requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mass communications or relevant discipline
  • Must have sound knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and videomaking
  • Knowledge of calligraphy will be a plus
  • Willingness to develop career in the field of communications
  • Creative, innovative and communicative
  • Ability and willingness to work in team, and willing to travel to project area (field)
