Cold Block Operator
About the job
Job Purpose: Shift operator will be responsible for the cold block operations
Key Responsibility Area (KRA):
- Fermentation, maturation, yeast crop, dry hopping, hops straining, filtration and handoff to the next shift operator. Managing and operation ofcold block.
- Accurately record all aspects of the CB-activities to track production operations and inventory
- All aspect of cold block work including but not limited to: cleaning and sanitization of UT’s, BBT’s, DAW, water tanks, filter, transfer lineswith Clean-in-Place (CIP)
- Follow all cleanup procedures to achieve high hygienic conditions. Handle the fermentation batches precisely according to the written recipe and SOP Constant communication with our head brewer/quality manager to ensure our beer meets internal quality standards
- Involves recording, troubleshooting, temperature, and flow monitoring, communication, supplying lines with material or product, cleaning, sanitation, and foaming. Sanitation involves the complete cleaning of all the equipment within the facility.
- Raw materials monitoring, receiving, and handling forthe Cold Block.
- Perform quality checks, testing, and complete paperwork as required.
- Perform work and cleaning in confined space areas
- Must be able to make equipment and product changeovers using tools as needed.
- Assist other operators and departments in training, repair work, and equipment operation as needed.
- Assist with supporting overtime as needed to cover varying production needs.
- Responsible for the daily completion of tasks integral to the operation and overall performance of the Brewery.
- Collaborate with production team, monitoring brewing and processing of batches to control quality, consistency and efficiency
- Follow written SOP’s; accountable for SOP execution, maintain highest safety standard.
- Communicate daily with Production Manager and Head Brewer on scheduled tasks, issues encountered, and priorities
Requirements:
- Professional cellar experience after 6 month internal training.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
- Passion for brewery and creating quality beer.
- Comprehensive understanding of brewing, production, and cellar operations.
- Strong sense of organization.
Experience: 5 years+ of cold block and brewery experience.
Qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor’s in Food Technology
