The Broker Support Officer provides virtual support for Matthew Goodyear, Mortgage Broker, based in Queensland, Australia. It includes processing and tracking of Australian home loans from pre-submission through to settlement, at a specialised level of knowledge and skill. The role is required to liaise with Broker/s, banks, other support staff and individual clients, in English. The contractor in this role is required to have extensive and specialised knowledge of the Australian mortgage industry. This expertise includes but is not limited to: excellent understanding of software systems such as BrokerEngine, Mercury Nexus and/or Quickli; specific knowledge of the compliance requirements for each registered lender on the panel of Australian aggregator, Connective; and exceptional command of the English language in order to converse with Australian clients and lenders.
Matthew Goodyear is Founder and Director of The Happy Finance Company, which consists of 4 experienced Brokers located in Australia, and numerous Broker Support staff based in various locations worldwide. The role will support only one Broker and will work closely with the rest of his team.
Responsibilities
- Data entry of loan application information into lender platforms
Assist with processing & tracking home loans from pre-submission through to post-settlement - Conduct thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests, including new requests, changed requests, refinancing and annual due diligence, and present the recommendations to the Broker
- Liaise with customers to request supporting documentation and update them on the progress of their application
- Form relationships and communicate with (mostly Australian) customers, lenders, referrers, and other business agents
- Keep active notes and manage applications in a dedicated Customer Relation Management (CRM) platform
- Assist in ensuring compliance processes are followed and maintained
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Contribute to the development of client education events and resources, where required.
Skill and Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience with the Australian mortgage industry
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with borrowers, stakeholders, and external partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for handling documentation and correspondence effectively
- Extensive and specialised knowledge of the Australian mortgage industry
- Exceptional command of the English language to converse with Australian clients and lenders
- Understanding of software systems such as BrokerEngine, Mercury Nexus and/or Quickli would be highly regarded
- Knowledge of the compliance requirements for each registered lender on the panel of Australian aggregator, Connective, would be highly regarded
