Position: Head of Department – Mechanical
Location: Mirchaiya, Siraha

Position Overview:

Shaurya Cement Industries Limited is seeking a seasoned and result-driven Head of Department – Mechanical to lead the mechanical maintenance function at our cement manufacturing plant in Mirchaiya, Siraha. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience from the cement industry, demonstrate strong leadership, and possess a strategic mindset to drive performance, reliability, and cost efficiency in all mechanical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of a strategic maintenance plan aligned with the organization’s objectives.
  • Contribute to plant performance improvement through objective setting, planning, and reviews.
  • Initiate, implement, and manage maintenance programs based on cement industry best practices with a focus on planning, scheduling, and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Ensure the maintenance team is well-trained, equipped, and motivated to deliver safe, timely, and cost-effective results.
  • Continuously monitor plant equipment to reduce unplanned downtime, resolve issues, and identify improvement areas.
  • Oversee maintenance, replacement, and upgrades of plant facilities and equipment.
  • Establish cost-effective controls over capital, operating expenses, and manpower while initiating efficiency-enhancing projects.
  • Track, analyze, and improve key maintenance metrics including asset utilization and cost control.
  • Implement and maintain a safety-first culture within the department, reviewing safety records regularly.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with the operations team to ensure minimal disruption and efficiency.
  • Establish and manage a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for tracking maintenance history and spare parts.
  • Enforce mechanical maintenance standards and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and development for the maintenance team.
  • Maintain and regularly update training and operational manuals for the mechanical department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (B.Tech/M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in the mechanical department, preferably within the cement industry.
  • Proven experience working in modern cement plants with exposure to Vertical Roller Mills.
