Helen Keller Intl. is an International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) working in health and nutrition in Nepal since 1988 to improve the nutritional status of women and young children through evidence-based research and programs. Helen Keller Intl. in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population (Nutrition Division) and with ethical approval from the Nepal Health Research Council is conducting a research study on multiple micronutrients supplementation. We request applications from qualified individuals for short-term assignments as mentioned below:
Research Officers- Consultant (Roster)
Tentative duration: (Approximately 66 days)
Background:
The Research officers (consultant) will be responsible for collecting longitudinal quantitative data through regular house visits at 180, 225 days’ timeframe and acquire written informed consent. The consultant will also facilitate coordination at district and health facility level and provide continued supportive supervision for the study participant’s follow-up and other research activities as required.

Summary of the Job Purpose:
The primary role of this position is to collect data from the study participants at different data collection points. This includes collecting quantitative data through regular house visits at 180, 225 days’ timeframe written informed consent, ensuring ethical guidelines.
The research officers will have to go through 3 days of training on overall program overview, data collection methodologies, and ensuring ethical Compliance.
Educational qualifications and experiences:
- Should have at least bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, nutrition, or social sciences with at least three years of experience in research related activities of I/NGOs in nutrition/health sectors.
- Sound knowledge on data collection and use.
- Experience working in the district-based position.
- Experience in using electronic data collection tools including ODK.
- S/he must have workable knowledge of the local language where the position is based.
Key Deliverables:
- Coordination and facilitation at district level, health facility level
The consultants are responsible for data collection and conduct follow-up home visits of PW in the recommended follow-up points. - Consultants will be required to comply with all the mandatory updates requested by the central project team.
