Company Description

The Why: NEPAL aspires to graduate from least developing country to a lower middle-income country by 2026. However, the development community’s excessive focus today on socio-political empowerment has not yielded the desired economic transformation. In reaching the 2026 national target, shall we wait for institutions of power to become accountably productive or shall we bolster innovations of people to bring inclusive prosperity? How do we strengthen grassroots-government collaboration in shaping an equal and enterprising future?

The How: DAAYITWA ABHIYAAN, with a focus on economic empowerment, envisions an enterprising Nepal where every youth has opportunities for a prosperous future. Daayitwa Abhiyaan consists of four organizations: Daayitwa, Governance Lab, Nepal Leadership Academy based in Nepal and Nepal Rising (Daayitwa-US) based in the U.S. Inspired by shared values of innovation, collaboration, and service, it promotes the socio- economic development of Nepal. The movement fosters inclusive and equitable economic growth by accelerating grassroots innovations, strengthening government institutions, and revitalizing a virtuous cycle of democracy and development through grassroots-government collaboration.

Daayitwa Abhiyaan runs several programs and initiatives aimed at our focus area. These key programs include:

Growth Entrepreneurship and Employment Program (GEEP): GEEP accelerates rural enterprises for boosting employment and income growth in rural Nepal. GEEP is executed through a partnership among Daayitwa, Gandaki and Koshi provincial governments, 10 local governments and the Nepali diaspora.

Daayitwa Nepal Public Service Policy Fellowship Program: Daayitwa supports bureaucrats and parliamentarians in making policy decisions by conducting policy research, building capability of government and strengthening research ecosystem.

Policy and Governance Research: Daayitwa has conducted research on several topics including youth employment, enterprise ecosystem, as well as women’s political and economic empowerment.

Leadership for Economic Governance Program: Daayitwa enables local governments to promote local economic development by enhancing their policy leadership capability and fostering trustful collaboration with other municipal ecosystem stakeholders.

National Governance Symposium: The National Governance Symposium (NGS) is an annual event organized by Governance Lab at Daayitwa Abhiyaan, with Daayitwa as the organizing partner.

Policy and Governance Dialogues: Daayitwa has been organizing policy and governance dialogues to enhance the governance ecosystem of the country.

Job Description

The What: YOU, as the Partnership and Outreach Coordinator, along with the Communications and Outreach team, will play a critical role in partnership and outreach efforts, and provide results-oriented, strategy-driven management of marketing, communication, and public relations activities of the Daayitwa Abhiyaan. You will assist in three key functions:

1. Formulating partnership strategy and plan

  • Work closely with senior management to identify key opportunities for partnerships, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities
  • Design and implement an integrated partnership strategy for advancing Daayitwa Abhiyaan’s brand identity, broadening awareness of programs and increasing visibility across key stakeholder audiences
  • Identify, build and strengthen partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including youth groups, government, private sector, banks, NGOs, universities and development partners
  • Design and produce compelling communication materials, including brochures, newsletters, reports, op-eds, social media content and donor proposals, with a focus on fundraising and partnership development
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of partnership strategies, making adjustments as needed to ensure continued success
  • Design and implement a strategy to build partnerships with media outfits at local, national and international levels
  • Develop and execute fundraising strategies, working closely with development teams to craft compelling messaging, identify donor prospects, and cultivate relationships to secure
  • Create and manage documentation and database related to external relationships

1. Strengthening strategic outreach

  • Lead outreach efforts to cultivate donor relationships, maintain ongoing communication with prospects, sponsors and partners to maximize engagement and support
  • Create and manage processes to develop knowledge products and promote effective public outreach
  • Support the coordination of fundraising campaigns, including event logistics, donor communication, tracking of donations and follow-ups
  • Draft regular campaign messages and fundraising appeals
  • Lead podcast production by coordinating with the production team, host, and guest
  • Maintain press contacts, create press releases, field media inquiries and maintaining relationships
  • Coordinate learning and networking sessions, including but not limited to webinars, panel discussions, and talk series
  • Attend public events in order to broaden relationship networks, referral sources and continually deepen existing knowledge of trends and practices
  • Collaborate with internal teams to produce content that highlights key programs, success stories, and impact, tailored to various stakeholders (donors, partners, public, etc.) for various social media platform and websites

Qualifications

  • YOU must be a growth-oriented, impact-minded, dynamic team-builder with following qualifications:
  • Academically compelling, with at least Masters in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Organizational Psychology, Social Sciences or relevant field
  • Professionally striking with minimum of 2 years of relevant experiences in strategic partnership, outreach, public relations and/or campaign coordination
  • Strong ability to craft effective partnership strategies for a variety of audiences
  • Experience with donor relations, fundraising campaigns, and partnership-building
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
  • Knowledge of social media platforms, website content management, and other digital communication tools
  • Independence in tackling complex problems consistently applying creativity, independent judgment and detail orientation
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal oversight with time management skills
  • Deep understanding of social issues related to economic prosperity, gender equality, youth employment and community-driven development
  • Passionately driven by a strong inner calling for economic empowerment of Nepal
  • Excellent writer and orator in Nepali and English
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and/or other design software

Additional Information

Compensation: Daayitwa will provide compensation on a monthly rate basis. The rate will be mutually agreed upon, commensurate with the level of the required deliverables, the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
