Impact Evaluation and Learning Manager

ActionAid International Nepal (AAIN) is a member of the federation, established in 1982 as a non-governmental social justice organization, working locally across various provinces of Nepal. AAIN is deeply engaged in both national and global social justice movement and a part of various civil society networks, alliances, and coalitions. Through a human rights-based approach, AAIN empowers marginalized communities to assert their rights and address the underlying causes of poverty and injustice. As a proud member of the ActionAid International federation, AAIN collaborates with like-minded organizations worldwide to advance its mission of promoting social justice, gender equality, poverty eradication and climate justice.

Impact Evaluation and Learning Manager will be responsible for leading and strengthening robust result-based planning, monitoring, evaluation, and learning system that improves the quality and effectiveness of our work in line with the Country Strategy Paper and Accountability Learning and Planning System (ALPS) at AAIN and Partner NGO (PNGO) levels.

The major roles and responsibilities can be summarised as follows:

  • Lead Strategic MEL Systems: Design and implement robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks aligned with our organizational strategy
  • Drive Evidence-Based Decision Making: Ensure high-quality data collection, analysis, and reporting that informs program improvements
  • Build Organizational Capacity: Strengthen MEL capabilities across teams and partner organizations through training and mentoring
  • Manage Knowledge Systems: Oversee development of digital platforms and databases for effective knowledge management
  • Ensure Compliance: Maintain adherence to donor requirements, organizational policies, and national regulations
  • Foster Learning Culture: Facilitate organizational learning processes and promote innovation in MEL approaches

Requirements:

  • Experience in monitoring & evaluation methodologies, data collection (including digital tools), and data protection protocols.
  • Proficient in data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization
  • Thorough knowledge of Nepal’s development landscape, political, and social environment Experience with donor reporting, statutory requirements, and quality assurance
  • Experienced in multicultural environments with strong budget management experience, strategic planning, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (English & Nepali), networking, and public relations skills.
  • Proven track record in training, facilitation, and organizational development Proficient in MS Office

Qualification:

  • A Master’s degree in Social Science or relevant field or its equivalent from a recognized University
  • At least 5 -7 years of work experience in related field in similar organization with 3-4 years’ work experience in similar role.

As an Extended Management Team (EMT) member, this position is responsible to lead or contribute to the following institutional priorities as per the requirements of AAIN:

  • Sexual Harassment, Exploitation and Abuse (SHEA) & Safeguarding (including Child Safeguarding)
  • Human right based approach (HRBA)
  • Safety and Security
