Position Title: Fundraising and Communications Associate – Media, Documentation & Partnerships (Paid Professional Volunteer)
Location: Provincial Office, Biratnagar – Koshi Province (70%), with 30% time in Madhesh Province, Nepal
Reports to: Executive Director and Program Manager
Duration: Until 31 December 2025, with possibility of renewal based on performance

OVERVIEW:

Health Nutrition Education and Agriculture Research Development Nepal (HEARD Nepal) is a national non-governmental organization (NGO) registered with the District Administration Office (DAO), Saptari (Registration No: 1761/077/78) under the Institutions Registration Act, 2034 B.S. The organization is affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Kathmandu (Affiliation No: 52601) and holds PAN No: 615996712. HEARD Nepal has established provincial field offices in Biratnagar (Morang), Kathmandu (Bagmati Province), and Surkhet (Karnali Province).

HEARD Nepal is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position under an upcoming project. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and results-oriented professional with demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing diverse teams. The Fundraising and Communications Associate – Media, Documentation & Partnerships (Paid Professional Volunteer) will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and communication of various programs and projects, with engagement across all seven provinces of Nepal as required.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Communications & Media (50%)
  • Develop and implement communication strategies that align with the organization’s objectives and enhance its public profile.
  • Produce and manage written content such as blog posts, newsletters, reports, press releases, and social media updates.
  • Maintain and update the organization’s website and social media channels.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication materials.
  • Support design and production of visual materials including brochures, infographics, and publications.
  • Monitor communication analytics and produce performance reports.
  1. Partnerships, Project Management, Proposal Writing & Data Entry Support (25%)
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and editing fundraising proposals and concept notes.
  • Support donor communications and reporting, ensuring timely and quality submissions.
  • Collect and organize project data and beneficiary information for use in proposals and reports.
  • Provide data entry and documentation support across donor tracking systems and program databases.
  • Coordinate with program teams and external partners to support partnership activities and proposal inputs.
  1. Storytelling, Visual Content, and Documentation (25%)
  • Gather and document success stories, testimonials, and case studies from field activities.
  • Capture high-quality photographs and video footage of program interventions and beneficiary impact.
  • Produce short videos or multimedia pieces for donor reports, presentations, and public campaigns.
  • Maintain organized archives of digital content including photos, videos, and written materials.
  • Ensure all media collection follows ethical guidelines and proper consent protocols.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor is degree in Communications, Journalism, BSW, BPA, Sociology, Public Health, International Development, or a related field.
  • Fresher or 6 month minimum experience in communications, fundraising, proposal writing, or donor engagement.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills in both English and Nepali; knowledge of regional languages is an asset.
  • Familiarity with donor proposal formats and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in graphic design and multimedia tools.
  • Experience with data entry systems, CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between Koshi and Madhesh Provinces as per require.

Desirable Attributes

  • Experience in the NGO/development sector in Nepal.
  • Skilled in photography and video production.
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
  • Commitment to ethical storytelling and gender-sensitive communication.
