Job Description

Install, configure, and maintain database management systems including Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
Monitor database performance and optimize queries, indexing, and configurations to ensure efficient operation.
Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to safeguard data integrity and availability.
Enforce database security policies and access controls to protect sensitive information.
Perform routine database maintenance, upgrades, and patching activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Automate repetitive database tasks using scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Document database configurations, procedures, and policies for team reference and compliance.
Collaborate with developers and IT teams on schema design and infrastructure requirements.
Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices to recommend improvements.

Job Specification:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Up to 3 years of hands-on experience in database administration or related roles.
Strong working knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server database systems.
Proven ability in performance tuning, query optimization, and database configuration.
Experience with backup strategies, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
Solid understanding of database security principles, encryption, and role-based access controls.
Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Familiarity with Linux and/or Windows Server operating systems.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
