Technical Coordinator- Youth Led Gesi Initiatives for Covid Recovery Strategies and Actions in Nepal (INT9701)

Level: D1
Duration: Fixed term contract until March 31, 2024, with possibility of extension
Location: Based in Dasarathchand, Baitadi with field visit to Dailekh and Kathmandu

The Role

The Technical Coordinator sits in the Program team, managed by the Thematic lead – Gender Justice. The position is fully responsible for the proper implementation of projects by partners, incorporating policy influence and feminist principles, and contributing to portfolio development.

What we are looking for

To steer and facilitate the delivery of Youth-led GESI initiatives for COVID recovery strategies and actions in Nepal project funded by the European Union with implementing partners in Dailekh and Baitadi districts of Nepal. Accountable for the delivery of the Fund to contribute to Increased socioeconomic and political participation of Nepali youth in Karnali and Sudhurpaschim provinces.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Gender Studies, development studies, social science, Law, sociology, and other related discipline.
  • Bachelor with 4 years or master’s with 3 years experience on project management experience (project implementation strategy development, project cycle management, project financial Management, online database systems for MEAL data, and the use of Excel),
  • Technical knowledge/experience in Gender, Women’s Right, feminism, youth capacity building, economic empowerment, and right-based programming.
  • Experience working on gender transformative and GREEN approach to economic empowerment.
  • Proven track record in achieving Project objectives and successful completion of project with donor reporting.
  • Can effectively influence others and can successfully represent Oxfam in a different forum.
  • Is strong in connecting, networking, and linking with different stakeholders
  • Training, facilitation, coaching, and problem-solving skills to build the capacity of the team and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate interaction between different development practitioners of various levels with strong social skills, managing processes between colleagues, partners, donor, government, and communities.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English and Nepali.
