SOSEC Nepal announces vacancy for Field Officer-Education

SOSEC Nepal is working by giving high priority and sensitivity on the right of women and children under the principle of integrated development approach to obtain right of women, children, raute community and backwarded communities in Dailekh, Kalikot and Surkhet districts of Karnali Province and Achham district of Sudurpaschim Province of Nepal with the coordination and collaboration with different development partner organizations. The organization is also adopting zero tolerance policy on violence against women & children and corruption.

SOSEC has been implementing two different technical programmes in Dailekh; 1) Protection and Community Engagement Sponsorship (PCESP), an2) Inclusive Quality Education (IQE) partnering with World Vision International Nepal. For this, we seek application from competent and self-motivated Dailekh citizen for the following position. The position is based in Dailekh (Bhagwatimai Rural Municipality).

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF FIELD OFFICER (EDUCATION)

  • Support Project Manager/ Coordinator to effectively roll out the Inclusive and Quality Education Project in allocated schools, reading camps, and their community
  • Support training coordinator to roll out capacity building events for teachers, SMC and reading camp facilitators
  • Carry out observation visits to trained teachers & RCFs, provide on-site support, and report training coordinator on major findings
  • Work with CVA working group leaders to roll out the local level advocacy initiatives
  • Support MEALS officers to roll out Project M&E plan; including updating beneficiary database system
  • Strengthen relationship with local level stakeholders to ensure required support from their end
  • Ensure the participation of Registered Children and integration other sectors i.e. CESP and Protection, Nutrition and Resilient Livelihood.
  • Work with local government for the programme alignment and sustainability.
  • Collect the best practices and success stories and document for the publication.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors in Education or relevant discipline with two year of experience in Education project (preferably Early Grade Reading, Inclusive Education, School Safety, and/or Community based advocacy projects)
  • Good understanding of Gender and social Inclusion specifically about child right, child right governance and Education
  • Good understanding/knowledge of the local context and sensitivities.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English essential
  • Analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills, written and oral.

SECTOR KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCY:

  • Knowledge on empowerment approaches
  • Basic understanding of Government policy, programme priorities, needs and issues in relation the sector priorities
  • Basic understanding of WVIN Education Sector TA, TP and priorities, project model (Early Grade Reading, School Safety, and CVA)
  • Basic Knowledge on education development approaches, theory of change
