Senior Technical Specialist -FP/RH and Liaison

The Senior Technical Specialist FP/RH and Liaison is responsible to maintain close coordination with the Family Welfare Division (FWD), National Health Training Center (NHTC), National Health Education, Information and Communication Center (NHEICC) and other Divisions as needed within the Department of Health Services (DoHS) to provide technical expertise in FP/RH areas and keep them well informed about the project interventions, progress and challenges. S/he is also responsible to provide technical support to FWD as needed in FP/RH program including private sector engagement and public private partnership in FP/RH in consultation with the FP/RH Section Chief, FWD. S/he will bridge and inform the project staff about the government new policies, strategies, and activities that MPHD Nepal can implement at the private sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaison with FWD, and other stakeholders in project related activities and work closely with other project staff based at FHI 360 Country Office, Nepal.
  • Provide technical support and coordinate between project and government in private sector engagement and facilitate public private partnership in FP/RH program.
  • In consultation with Department of Health Services/FWD, s/he will be responsible for planning and managing joint monitoring visits to the project-supported sites at least on a quarterly basis or as needed.
  • Maintain close coordination with NHTC and NHIECC to smoothly carry out the project work plan activities.
  • Support MPHD Nepal for organizing and facilitating various meetings and events in consultation with FWD and other Divisions as needed.
  • Contribute to program reports, technical update and other documentation work as needed.
  • Inform to the project team about the government approved new policies, strategies programs and plan especially which are relevant to the project.
  • Represent FHI 360 in the external meetings among the stakeholders as and when required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Chief of Party and Country Director.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in public health or social sciences or other relevant subject with three to five years of experience working in FP/RH or health sector in Nepal or bachelor’s degree with five to seven years of experience in above mentioned field.
  • Strong technical knowledge on FP/RH programs, policies, guidelines along with public private partnership.
  • Experience in working effectively across various teams within the project and organization as well as with different departments, divisions, centers and sections of the government.
  • Experience in building and sustaining positive working relationships with NGOs, private sectors, government and other stakeholders.
  • Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing and working in virtual work environment, and flexible and open for managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written English and Nepali including documentation skills.
