CRS is an international NGO based in the United States that works in over 100 countries to promote human development by responding to major emergencies, fighting disease and poverty, and nurturing peaceful and just societies. CRS Nepal implements earthquake recovery and resilience programming in Gorkha and Okhaldhunga districts to provide technical support for reconstruction of earthquake resilient houses, livelihood recovery and WASH. USAID funded additional livelihood technical assistance program in province 3,5,6 and 7. The Housing Recovery and Reconstruction Platform (HRRP) is led by CRS Nepal from March 2017.

CRS Nepal invites applications from interested Nepalese citizens for the following position:

Position: Urban Recovery Coordinator (1 position-Based in Kathmandu)

Minimum of five years of relevant experience, three years of which should be in a project/program coordination capacity. Master’s degree in disaster risk management, civil/geotechnical engineering, Natural resources/ environment management, urban planning or management or related fields. Knowledge of Nepal building codes, government structures, and operational mechanics, standards, and prevailing civil engineering principles and practices. Experience with humanitarian recovery and reconstruction programs and with coordinating and liaising with the local government a plus. Experience in using GIS and their presentations

Position: Structural Engineer (1-position based in Kathmandu)

Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible Structural/Earthquake engineering experience, including supervisory experience, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master degree in Structural/Earthquake Engineering. Knowledge of Nepal building codes, government structures, and their operational mechanics, prevailing civil engineering principles, and practices is necessary. Experience with humanitarian recovery and reconstruction programs, especially in retrofitting is preferable while liaising with the local government a plus. Experience in using SAP/E-tabs, AutoCAD, supervising detail drawings, and their presentations.

Position: Driver (2 Position-Based in Kathmandu)

Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a driver. Minimum Grade 10 Pass. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Knowledge of minor vehicle maintenance and repair. Excellent knowledge of road traffic regulations, road network and road safety best practices in Nepal and general vehicle mechanical knowledge.

NOTE: The driver position is subject to the project approval.
