Applications are invited from interested, committed, dynamic team players and experienced Nepali nationals for the following positions:

Helen Keller International seeks the following positions for an anticipated Global Undernutrition program in Nepal. These positions are contingent upon donor funding and approval, The program aims to focus on early diagnosis and treatment of acute malnutrition and will work in three districts of Nepal; Rupandehi, Kapilvastu and Nawalparasi West for a period of one year

Monitoring & Evaluation Officer

Summary of Job Purpose: This position is responsible for development and implementation of M&E plan; tools and system; work closely with the Helen Keller project team including Partner NGO; produce timely and periodic reporting; adapt/develop routine data collection and compilation tools/checklist for all program areas; make regular visits to the field and partner NGOs to collect and verify data, and to support the implementation of M&E.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

Setting up the system

Work closely with M&E Manager, in leading the establishment of M&E system in project districts. In doing so (but not limited to):

  • Development and implementation of M&E plan
  • Development of M&E tools and system.
  • Work closely with the Helen Keller project team including PNGO.
  •  Ensure timely reporting.
  • Generate and develop periodic reports – weekly, monthly and donor/Helen Keller specific.

Monitoring

  • Adapt/develop routine data collection and compilation tools/checklist for all program areas. Ensure that the tools capture appropriate disaggregation.
  • Ensure that all relevant data are collected in defined frequency, and that the data meets the donor quality standards.
  • Make regular visits to the field and partner NGOs to collect and verify data, and to support the implementation of M&E..
  • Support sectoral team members and local partners in the district to review and analyse monitoring data and help use the findings to improve program performances. To achieve this, the M&E Officer will do the following (but not limited to):
  • Participate program review workshops in the districts, analyze partners reports, monitoring data (including secondary data) and help use the findings to improve program performances.
  • Work individually with the sectoral staff
  • Visit field sites and local partners.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Support program team in compiling and drafting reports to be fed to the donor periodic reports.
  • Review reports to generate leanings, better practices, and case studies.

Capacity Development

  • Support to organize training for district staff on M&E tools and application
  • Organize capacity-building events to the local partners and sectoral team on M&E as required

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Educational Degree
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in information technology & management/public health/social science/health education from a recognized university
  • Experiences and other competencies:
  • Minimum Three years’ experience in health/ nutrition
  • Experience on M&E systems, database set up & management, computer
  • Experience in designing DHIS2 system.
  • Relevant experience on research & survey
  • Analytical skill
  •  Good Nepali and English communication skills (oral and written
  • 80% of need to be field visit.
