JOB OPPORTUNITY

Lumbini Buddhist University was established in 2063 BS with a mandate of operating higher level educational institution for the study, teaching and research on Buddhist Philosophy, Literature, Education and Culture and the other subjects. The university through its School of Development Studies and Applied Sciences (SDSAS) aims to promote academia community linkage through ‘Green Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Livelihood through Agroforestry Plantation Project (GESLTAP)’ in the forest land grnted by the Government of Nepal in Devdaha Municipality in 2021.

SDSAS hereby invites applications from the qualified Nepalese citizens for the following positions on contract basis for 4-month period of the project.

Position Title: Project Coordinator

Position Number: 1
Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the delivery of GESLTAP Project.
  • Develop monthly and quarterly work plans and budget forecasts.
  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of work plans and budgets, communicating any significant delays.
  • Assist in the development of strategies to achieve project aims.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in Agriculture, Forestry, Development studies or related subject.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Substantial experience in project management including project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and narrative and financial reporting.

Position Title: Field Officer

Position Number: 2
Major Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities at the field level, ensuring implementation schedules are met as per the detailed implementation plan (DIP).
  • Support the project team to identify technical opportunities and challenges related to livelihoods, in coordination with the project.
  • Coordinate communication and facilitate information sharing among the project team, local implementing partners, and project beneficiaries.
  • Compile data provided at the community level as per project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, required
  • Minimum One (1) year of NGO work experience, required
  • Demonstrated experience in livelihoods-especially emergency livelihoods- required; experience with youth and job placement programs, preferred.
  • Experience working with partners and participating in community-engagement activities, required.
