How can you make a difference?

Under the direct supervision of the ICT officer (NO-A), the ICT Associate (GS-6) provides day-to-day ICT customer-care support to UNICEF ROSA, its events and activities inhouse and off-site.

Based on the established policies, guidelines, standards and work-processes, the purpose of this role is to support the provision of ICT infrastructure, core-enterprise applications, digital business solutions, tools and technologies. This involves (but not limited to): ICT helpdesk-support, user-administration/access-control, and events-support including admin/logistics and ERP transactional support relevant to the ROSA-ICT4D section.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Assist in continuous operation of ICT infrastructure and accessibility to ICT services and solutions:

  • Assist in uninterrupted serviceability of ICT infrastructure & core enterprise ICT services/business solutions
  • Assist in ensuring physical and logical security and safety of ICT environment and infrastructure. Assist in monitoring risks and threats to ICT environment or infrastructure and escalate for corrective actions,
  • Assist in managing access-control (user-administration) of entire ICT environment i.e. LAN/WAN, enterprise/business-solutions, and telecommunication infrastructure/services;
  • Assist in the rollout of corporate solutions/services and change management activities as relevant;
  • Assist in implementation of system upgrades, and security updates as relevant;
  • Assist in provision of preventive maintenance and corrective measures established in the office;
  • Assist in management of emergency telecommunication operations and equipment;

Provide customer care support:

  • Provide technical, operational and procedural support to end-users;
  • Perform as Tier-1 responder, escalate ICT incidents and/or problems to GSSC/ITSS and SMEs as relevant;
  • Assist end-users in interpretation and adherence of ICT related communication, policies, guidelines
  • Provide ICT support to the events both inhouse and offsite as relevant;
  • Follow up with Tier-2, Tier-3 and relevant SMEs on escalated incidents and problems
  • Assist end-users with the use of newly introduced ICT solutions, services, and tools

Support operational and administrative tasks:

  • Assist in facilitation of on-boarding/off-boarding of new staff with provision of ICT facilities as relevant;
  • Liaise with HR, Operations, Supply and Security sections on provision ICT facilities and services for staff.
  • Assist in the maintenance of ICT disaster recovery plans including periodic tests;
  • Assist in monitoring the assess and verifying the use of ICT resources to ensure compliance;
  • Assist in the management of service-contracts related to the ICT4D;
  • Administer the ROSA Travel management Tool and provide periodic insights to the senior management;

Provide end-to-end assistance and transactional support to activities related to the ICT4D Section

  • Assist in development and maintenance of supply plan and work plan for the ICT4D section
  • Provide end-to-end support for procurement of goods and services related to the section
  • Support end-to-end formalities for travels related to the ICT4D section
  • Provide admin/logistic support required for the events related to the ICT section
  • Ensure timely processing of all invoices related to the ICT4D section
  • Perform VISION (ERP) transactions related to the ICT4D section

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: Completion of Secondary education is required. Professional and/or university courses related to the field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, and Engineering) of work are highly desirable. ITIL Foundation Certificate or equivalent customer support certification is an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 6 year of practical work experience in information technology, requiring systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem-solving is required. Experience in providing end-user assistance on IT products and services and use of applications and diagnostic tools is required. Practical experience in providing technical and business Customer Support and Services is required. Practical experience and working knowledge of various computer platforms and applications is required.
Technical Competencies: Certification and/or proven experience in one of these several ICT technical competencies is an asset: ICT Project Management, Business Analytics, Information Security, ICT Audit and Risk Management, Telecommunications, Networks Information Security and Software Engineering and Programming.
Language Requirement: Fluency in English and Nepali needed. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
