Organization: The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal

The Gurkha Welfare Trust Nepal is the field arm of Gurkha Welfare Trust UK, a registered charitable Trust working particularly for the ex-British Gurkha Veterans and their communities across Nepal. We invite applications from all interested and qualified candidates for the following positions:

Position: Experienced Doctor based at Area Welfare Centre Damak, Jhapa

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be qualified as a Medical Doctor (MBBS).

• Must be registered with Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

• Additional Post Graduate qualifications (MD in GP or Internal Medicine) desirable.

• Must have good command of both spoken and written English.

• Must be computer competent.

• Must be Nepali citizen. Required Background & Experiences:

• Minimum of five years of work experience with Govt/ Private hospitals/Health Posts/Centres.

• Experience in working in remote areas with Government/international organizations preferable.

• Experience in coaching, teaching, mentoring and management of clinical staff highly desirable.

• Experience in working/consulting elderly patients and chronic diseases desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Your role will be to deliver regular primary care consultations to the pensioners living in and around AWC Damak, consulting around 35 to 40 patients a day, five days a week, and leading and teaching the clinical team working alongside you. The clinical challenges will be mainly concerning the older population of retired ex-servicemen on chronic non-communicable diseases. You will work mainly at AWC Damak but shall support neighbouring AWCs in providing clinical services as necessary.

Remunerations:

Salary will be

NRs. 178,784 to 181,774

with Provident Fund, Gratuity, One month pay as Festival Bonus, Medical Cover and leave/holidays as per GWT(N) Regulations. The job is offered for 2 years initially and may be extended further based on need and performance.


Position: Cluster Doctor to work from various Area Welfare Centres

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be qualified as a Medical Doctor (MBBS).

• Must be registered with Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

• Must have good command of both spoken and written English.

• Must be computer competent.

• Must be Nepali citizen.

Required Background & Experiences:

• Minimum of three years of work experience with Govt/ Private hospitals/Health Posts/Centres.

• Experience in working in remote areas with Government/international organizations preferable.

• Experience in coaching, teaching, mentoring and management of clinical staff highly desirable.

• Experience in working/consulting elderly patients and chronic diseases desirable.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Your role will be to deliver regular primary care consultations to the pensioners living in and around Area Welfare Centres, and leading and teaching the clinical team working alongside you. You will be based at one of the Key AWCs, namely Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal Dharan and Damak, and frequently moving to another as necessary to relieve existing cluster doctors when one is out on official duties/leave, etc. You will also be required to support neighbouring AWCs in the hills in providing clinical and home visit services as necessary.

Remunerations:

Salary will be

NPR 151,280

with Provident Fund, Gratuity, One month pay as Festival Bonus, Medical Cover and leave/holidays as per GWT(N) Regulations. The job is offered for 2 years initially and may be extended further based on need and performance.


Position: Part Time Female Doctors for Area Welfare Centres Bagmati and Dharan

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, REQUIRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

• Must have qualified as a Medical Doctor (MBBS) and registered with Nepal Medical Council (NMC).

• Post Graduate qualifications (MD in GP or Medicine) are desirable.

• Experience in working/consulting elderly patients and chronic diseases desirable.

• Experience in coaching, teaching, mentoring and managing clinical staff is highly desirable.

• Must have good command of both spoken and written English.

• Must be computer competent.

• Must be Nepali citizen.

PLACE OF WORK, WORKING PATTERN & CHALLENGES

• Your place of work will be at Area Welfare Centres Bagmati (Kathmandu) and Dharan.

• Your primary role will be to conduct primary care consultations (between Mon to Fri) preferably looking for a Dr to work 2 to 3 days a week, minimum of one day. Timings may be flexible but must be between 0800-1630 hrs.

• The clinical challenges will be concerning the older population of retired ex-servicemen, focusing mainly on chronic non-communicable diseases along with gyne related problems.

REMUNERATION

• NPR 1,250 consultation fee per hour. TDS applicable. No other benefits will be available due to the nature of this post.

• The job is offered for six months initially and may be extended further on the basis of need and performance.


Position: Executive Officer, Individual Aid, based at Headquarters, Pokhara

Competence:

• You must have proven leadership qualities and managerial experience able to lead a team of multiple diversity.

• Proven experience in IT Software development & data manipulation.

• Proven staffing skills and experience.

• Excellent command of both spoken and written English able to interact with non-Nepali speaking persons and promulgate instructions/reports in English.

• Nepali citizen.

Eligibility, Required Qualification and Experience:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in IT Software Engineering with proficient skills in the following fields:

a. Must have sound knowledge in PHP programming language.

b. Must have experience in Mysql database RDBMS system.

c. Familiar with Laravel framework.

• Minimum of five years team management experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• In liaison with IT Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the GWT-IS software being developed to improve its’ capabilities.

• Be able to incorporate and mature the Pensioners Risk Assessment (PRA) Tool in the IS so as to capture all requirements that are done to bridge the assessed needs of pensioners.
• Be able to work and provide all the requirements of our operational data using appropriate and effective system to capture welfare activities and deliver the perceived benefits in a single reporting platform.
• Be able to generate and standardise our reporting platform on IS in line with requirements set forth by the management so as to develop a Management Information System and reporting platform to achieve an overview of all welfare activities and staff movements to achieve this.

• Development and usage of software to merge Accounting System, Payment System, Logistic System, Medical Information System, etc., since all relate to the Pensioners and the core centre of it being Individual Aid Cell.

Position: Clinical Practice Manager, based at Area Welfare Centre, Butwal

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Candidates may be qualified as Bachelor of Nursing or any other Allied Health Professional, registered with the appropriate body in Nepal, have excellent commands of both spoken and written English, computer competent, fit enough to undertake responsibilities of the job, and a Nepali citizen minimum of five years of work experience after the first license.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

Proven experience in working in a clinical management role is essential. Working in quality assurance role is also desirable. You will need to be able to manage, teach and facilitate learning of nurses, and HAs and at the same time encourage them to deliver high quality healthcare to defined standards of clinical practice. In particular you will ensure correct use of medical equipment, cleanliness and infection control, good record management, etc. Experience of clinic management and treatment of chronic diseases such as Diabetes, COPD, hypertension and elderly care will be extremely relevant for us. However the most important aspect is management and leadership skills.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the staff of the Key AWC Medical Centre and ensure high quality; patient centred care is delivered at all the times. You will be responsible for the smooth running of the centre, managing procurement, appointment scheduling, contractors, staff rostering, promoting teamwork and collaborative learning amongst all the staff. You will ensure the correct use of the medical equipment, the Medical Information Systems, be responsible for the quality assurance within the centre and management of feedback and complaints.

REMUNERATION

The starting

salary is NPR 78,356 plus

Position: Pharmacists, for Area Welfare Centre Butwal and Other areas

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

The successful applicant must be qualified and licensed as a Pharmacist in Nepal and should have preferably obtained a Bachelor degree in pharmacy. Have good commands of both spoken and written English, must be computer competent and a Nepali citizen with a minimum of one year of work experience.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

The successful candidate should have experience of practising as a hospital or community pharmacist, with excellent patient counselling skills. Have Experience of working with International standard of pharmacy best practices and have awareness of the challenges in achieving these in Nepal. Be able to identify and implement the best practices and methods of storage and distribution of medicines. Have Experience in interacting with clinicians on a regular basis to maintain evidence based decisions on the correct use of medications and producing relevant formularies. Must be familiar with Nepal DDA policies and guidelines on good Pharmacy Practice and Medication Management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will be responsible for comprehensively overseeing:

• Inventory Management: Overall control of AWC pharmacy (health stores including pharmaceuticals, consumable and medical stores, first aid kits and medical equipment)

• Dispensing and Patient Counselling.

• Promoting safe, effective and appropriate use of medications and over the counter pharmaceuticals.

• Providing pharmacy technical advice, education and training to health practitioners.

• Performing other tasks as might be required within the scope of the services.

Position: Mobile Health Practitioners, to work from our Area Welfare Centres across Nepal, both East and West

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, REQUIRED BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

The applicants must be qualified and licensed as PCL Nurse, or Health Assistant, or above, and registered with appropriate Medical Council in Nepal. S/he should have a minimum of 3 years practical work experience. The candidate should have experience of practising in a community based medical facility in Nepal, must be familiar with standard infection control precautions, be a team player, be able to function independently but show the ability to identify patient needs above qualification and escalate to the medical management for clinical assistance. As the role of the Mobile Health Practitioner (MHP) is targeted at pensioners residing in the very remote areas of Nepal the suitable candidate must be physically fit and able to function independently. Possession of the motorbike license will be a desirable competence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as first point of contact for pensioners in the rural areas for acute and chronic disease management in accordance with competency and policy. You are required to:

• Maintain highest possible standards of clinical practice.

• Maintain and manage vulnerable pensioners list and delivery of aid.

• Ensure standards of practice and service delivery as laid down by local regulations and the International Standards of practice are maintained, and that documentation of same is up to date.

• Ensure that universal precautions are followed at all times.

• Actively participate in the continuous quality improvement program.

• Ensure that all waste is managed in accordance with local Regulations and GWT(N) standards.

• Perform tests and investigations as required such as ECG, spirometry, POC blood tests, in accordance with the guidelines.

• Performing other tasks as might be required within the scope of the services.

salary is NPR 45,056.00 plus
