Digital Media Coordinator – (230000IG)

The role of post holder is to take responsibility and ownership of Save the Children in Nepal’s strategic online presence, brand, and engagement, under the guidance of Communications and Behavior Change Campaign Manager. This will consist of managing social media accounts, updating and maintaining the organization website, creating and implementing a digital media strategy, producing social media and digital strategic pieces, reporting on the analytics of the organization’s online platforms, and communicating with supporters/donors and other stakeholders through the organization’s online channels. This role will also support in designing and implementing online/digital campaigns on various thematic issues.

Key Responsibilities

Specific Duties:

Manage Save the Children’s website

  • Update content on https://nepal.savethechildren.net/ as needed to make sure it is accurate and timely, and to establish the website as a good and credible resource on children’s rights issues
  • Add new pages or sections, or redesign existing ones, for special campaign or global moments (or as needed)
  • Produce web site contents (audio/visual/infographics/human interest stories/photos)

Manage Save the Children’s social media accounts

  • Create and implement a content plan and strategy for Save the Children’s social media accounts (Facebook, Linkedin, Tiktok, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Create social media content such as social media cards, cover photos, GIFs, infographics, short vidoes,
  •  Update content on social media accounts, whether by schedule or immediately (in the case of relevant breaking news or developments)
  • Regularly monitor online trends or phenomena that can be used as conversation starters , or hooks for online content.
  • Identify and use tools or innovations to maximize online visibility and help us reach our target audience
  • Report regularly on the analytics (reach, engagement, ) of Save the Children’s social media accounts

General

  • Deliver results in line with Terms of Reference (ToR) agreed with Line Manager prior to onboarding and maintains the reputation of Save the
  • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to Child Protection, Code of Conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities, and other relevant policies and
  • Be responsible for the security of all staff; ensure that the safety, health, and wellbeing of staff are ensured and staff management and other processes and policies reflect Save the Children’s principles of equity and fairness
  • To perform such other responsibilities as agreed with line manager

Qualifications and experience

  • Minimum master degree’s in journalism, media studies, or relevant subject
  • At least 3 years’ experience in online media management or public relations
  • Excellent command of English and Nepali
  • Strong understanding of the Nepali media landscape (online, informal influencers and in print and broadcast)
  • Excellent IT skills
