General Manager/Exam Director

British Council Services Nepal Private Limited is looking to select and source one General Manager who will also serve as Exams Director to support British Council cultural mission and ensure access to English and Education opportunity as part of a prosperous society agenda that enhances UK-Nepal relations. The role bearer is expected to lead on the delivery of training objectives including services on behalf of UK examinations board and local partners, and to ensure alignment with British Council UK corporate requirements, global operating standards and commercial compliance in the local regulatory environment.

You will need:
Qualifications:

  • Existing working rights in Nepal-priority will be given to Nepalese citizen.
  • University degree in any subject or qualification in a relevant field.
  • Ability to demonstrate English Language skill at C1

Role Specific Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least Five years of experience managing and achieving education objectives for international/multinational organizations.
  • At least Three years of experience managing country-level assessments that includes a range of UK qualifications, including IELTS/SELT and GCE.
  • Track record built up in more than one country which demonstrates positive impact for Ministry-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of growing exams business in a competitive market.
  • Experience in managing multiple complex stakeholder relationships in a matrix of organization.
  • Experience of performing successfully in a rapidly changing environment.

Role Specific Skills:

  • Direct experience leading and delivering training and assessment in the international education sector.
  • Business Development skills evidenced by demonstrable increase in sales/revenue of training and assessment products at scale.

British Council Core Skills:

  • Ability to form and manage strategic relationships with different stakeholders
  • Demonstrable negotiation and motivation techniques.
  • Ability to manage and lead larger projects.
  • Ability to monitor and control agreed budget, producing report and analysis, and contributing to planning.
  • Ability to plan and deploy resources to meet goals.
