The Accounting Assistant role comes with a lot of responsibility and covers a range of aspects like reviewing a company’s financial statements, documents, data, and accounting entries. Accountants gather information from a company’s financial reporting systems, account balances, cash flow statements, income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and internal control systems. The information is then reviewed and used to present all financial data relating to a specific organization in an accurate, fair manner, ensuring that no fraud or gross errors are present in the company. The part will help develop your skills further and give a feel for what life is like in the accounting department.
**RESPONSIBILITIES **
Preparing monthly management report analysis.
Assisting with Bookkeeping and administrative requirements and procedures.
Analyzing account information and monitoring accounts and tax returns.
Preparing salaries for the employees.
Documenting financial transactions by entering account information. Auditing and analyzing financial performance.
Recommending financial actions by analyzing accounting options. Advising on how to reduce costs and increase profits.
Summarizing current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
Substantiating financial transactions by auditing documents. Keeping account books and systems up-to-date.
Maintaining accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Supporting in reviewing month-end financial statements, including any unusual gross profit levels, and notifying supervisor of any exceptional items.
**REQUIREMENTS **
In possession of Accounting or Finance related degree.
Previous practical Accounting or Auditing experience is considered an asset but not a necessity.
Showing high proficiency in English.
Having organizational skills and attention to detail.
Being able to complete tasks in an accurate and timely fashion.
Ability to work on your own initiative where necessary.
Showing enhanced numerical and quantitative skills and advanced analytical and problem-solving qualifications.
Being able to communicate complex information in a clear and understandable way.
Being able to deal with complex data sets.
Working hours (Maltese Time):
Monday to Thursday: 8am to 5pm
Friday: 8am to 3pm
Starting salary: 400 Euros per month
